IoT / Foundation

Detecting an issue is only the start of a response.

Give scene rules, device actions, alert events, notifications, and human handling clear boundaries.

THE CUSTOMER PROBLEM

Start with the connectivity management problem.

Detecting an abnormal condition does not mean it has been handled. Rule evaluation, action authorization, device response, notification delivery, and ownership all need separate records; the entire chain should not be labeled successful as one step.

MECHANISM / REASON / TRADE-OFF

See how the capability works through the interface.

01

Rules define explicit conditions and actions

Configure trigger, condition checks, and actions separately, then inspect the execution record. Device control still checks actual capability and permission.

Choice and trade-off
A rule firing does not prove that control succeeded. Verify the target, parameters, and response.
02

Keep alert events, notifications, and response distinct

An abnormal condition creates a business alert event; notification reaches people, and a response record explains what followed. AI evaluation can sit after event creation and before notification when configured.

Choice and trade-off
AI assistance does not replace safety interlocks or human responsibility, and does not mean every notification channel is enabled.
03

Device alerts are different from server monitoring

This page covers device thresholds, business events, and scene automation. Service health and container metrics belong to operations monitoring.

Choice and trade-off
Notification channels must be enabled and configured. A visible option does not prove that an external channel is active.
Device alert event and response entryAn existing test interface; it is not a real execution record for the water-level example on this page.

A CONCRETE EXAMPLE / MECHANISM EXAMPLE

How should a high water-level alert reach an operator?

A water-management workflow example, not an execution record. Review the alert, control response, and notification separately.

  1. Receive the level and verify its field, time, and rule conditions
  2. Create an alert or run a configured action, recording each result
  3. Notify the responsible people, confirm handling, and keep the record
